How to Keep safe as a Makeup Artist- The Pandemic

I assume we all know how the pandemic has affected almost all the sectors of businesses and industries all over the world. The beauty industry is not secluded, especially for makeup artists who come in very close contact with clients. The virus is still very much existing even though some persons  might counter this statement. But as the saying goes “it is better to be safe than sorry”. In this episode we are going to discuss the ways to remain and operate safely while working as a makeup artist, for the advantage of yourself and your client.

1. WEAR A FACE MASK- I mean..., this one is quite obvious. You come in close contact with your client so it’s only reasonable you use your face mask while working, as your client wouldn’t be able to use one at the time. Do not remove your face mask because you want to work!. This is the time you need it the most, for the safety of you and your client. So please mask up.

2. USE YOUR SANITIZER - Ensure you make use of your hand sanitizer  accurately on your hands before and after working on a client. You should also make it compulsory that your client make use of a hand sanitizer before a session begins.

3. PUT ON WELL-COVERED CLOTHES- You shouldn’t put on a cloth or dress that reveals so much skin, as this can put you at risk. You should at all times wear a cloth that covers your skin, as this would be protective and reduce skin contacts. If possible, work with a pair of gloves.

4. WASH YOUR CLOTHES - Wash your cloths once  you get back from a session with a client. This is one of the ways to remain safe and reduce the risk that comes with the job.

5. WASH AND STERILIZE YOUR WORK TOOLS- Since these tools would be used for all of your clients, it is only safe and rational that you clean your tools and sterilize them before attending to another client. This way your clients are and would feel safer.

6. GET THE VACCINE - If possible, it is advisable you get yourself vaccinated  as this would immensely  reduce your risk and also make it safer for your clients.

7. GET TESTED- If the vaccine is not yet an option for you, then at any point you feel any symptom of the virus, you are not to take bookings and immediately get yourself tested to confirm and get treatments if the need arises.

Remember to mask up and wash your hands every now and then.
