2020 LIP TRENDS

Lips, lipsticks, lip gloss, lip liner, just everything lips is the focus of this episode. There have been methods of applying a lipstick before now, But recent trends of lip application varies this days ,  we see  people use pencil liners to make their lips look fuller or smaller. If you go two years back, there's an obvious change in lipstick application as well as lipstick texture. From the roll-out lipstick to matt, glossy and the lip pallet which is a unique development. 

 

The lip palette is the compiles different shades/color of lipstick  in one palette. A lot of brands are beginning to adapt to lip palette even though it is expensive than the single lipsticks. As seen in the picture, you get 15 different shades in one small palette, totally worth it. As a beginner in makeup looking for a way to buy make-up products on a budget, the lip palette would be very advisable,  get a nude and a colorful lip palette and you are ready to create looks with any lip color. Plus it saves space in your box, the space 15 lipsticks would have taken, is simplified to two simple flat palettes. It saves time, when applying makeup you need to be time conscious, for example to create an Ombre lip you need 2-3 different lipstick colors.  The time and effort that you use looking for 3 lipstick colors in a sea of lipsticks has been narrowed down to just picking up a palette. It helps with being organized especially for a professional makeup artist.

      

Lets take a look at 2020's lip trends, This year a lot of dope trends came on board with a touch of extra and fierce.

                                   

1. THE METALLIC LIP- We can all agree this lip look was a huge trend this year. This lip color goes with any type of make-up look you are trying to create. A lot of brands came up with their metallic lipsticks. This look gives your makeup that bronzy feel and finishing.

FUCHSIA  PINK-  The stereotype of which skin color goes best with the bright pink was killed and buried this year. As we saw queens of different colors rock bright pink on their lips and slayed. Fashion and makeup  magazines also featured the bright pink lip look. The rest of the face is usually neutral while the  pink lips snatches the attention . This is a statement look and I love the power that came with it.

CARAMEL NUDE-  Nude never goes out of trend. It might change in texture or color but it stays a trend. In 2020 a darker shade of nude was in vouge. A  beautiful shade of nude that suited all skin colors. Line the lips with a shade of brown that suits your color,  then apply the caramel nude lipstick. It was that simple. Whether matt or glossy  it still gives a natural finish.

PUMPKIN RED- This lips brought literarily everyone out of their comfort zone. The trend of this look was influenced by @badgirlriri posting tutorials on how to rock her Fenty red lipstick. Using a black pencil to line your lips, apply a dark red lipstick and little of casual red to highlight the middle of the lips, blend both together to get the perfect dark red lip look. The look was bold and it was nice seeing people rock this bold color gorgeously.

TWO-COLORS LIP-  Before now people made use of just a lipstick color. Now two or even three colors of lipstick can be used be that they match perfectly. The popular two colored lip created was brown and orange, brown on the upper lip and orange on the lower lips.

 

CLEAR GLOSS- The clear gloss popping lip look never goes out of trend fam. And  this year had people staying at home due to the COVID 19 pandemic. The clear gloss came in handy for those who did not want a full makeup look while posting on their socials.
