What You Should Know About These products - Moisturizer, Primer and Face Spray

Hey fam, On todays episode, I would be discussing about three very essential skin facials , although some might argue with that statement, there have been a lot of controversies with these skin products, some say using all three is not a necessity as they have the same purposes, while there have been arguments that all three or at least two should be used for a perfect makeup finishing, and the argument on which product should come before which. Before I put out my opinion on these products, let us have a break down of the products and give detailed information of their purposes, I am doing this so we can have our different opinions from there, regardless of what I think at the end of the episode.

Above is a FACE MOISTURIZER, this product is not only used during makeup application, it can also be used as a normal face lotion. Although it has several types depending on ones skin type/condition, whether excess oil, dry skin, or a dull-looking complexion. A moisturizer provides the right amount of nourishment  that can address these issues. The moisturizer is used before make up, it hydrates as well as smoothen out the skin, giving you the ideal complexion for applying makeup. The usefulness of a  face moisturizer in the overall look of  make up can never be over emphasized, but I can promise it makes it look a whole lot better you can try it out.

The FACE PRIMER is an essential makeup product. Primer smoothens the surface of the skin, reduces appearance of fine lines and pores, evens out ones skin tone and helps the makeup last for a longer period of time. There are  different types of face primer that blends well with suited skin types from oil-free, mattifying or dry primer. Many people make the mistake of using a primer which doesn’t match with their skin type and end up hating the face primer. If you have a dry skin tone and use a mattifying  face primer which initially is meant for an oily skin, you definitely would not like the outcome fam.

The FACE SETTING SPRAY/ Face mist, has a lot of advantages and benefits that can be added to ones skin regime , depending on the elements it contains ranging from hydration, absorption of moisturizer, smooth application of makeup. The face mist also makes the skin look very radiant determined by its ingredients, some  sprays have a dewy or shimmery effect on the skin/makeup. The setting spray makes the makeup settle and look very natural on ones skin.

After  much deliberation, I came up with this few points

1. The face moisturizer, primer and setting spray can be confused to have the same functions but from what I explained above, I think it is quite obvious they have some common features which is smoothening of the face and giving the makeup look a clean base and neutral finishing but they are not the same products.

2. The differences is that the Face moisturizer makes the face moist and aids to solve other skin issues/ blemishes , the Face primer gives the makeup a base and protects your face from harsh contents some products can contain, but popularly it gives the effect of a very long lasting make-up. And finally, the Face setting spray could be used before and after make-up to prep the skin  and it gives the makeup a natural finishing effect.

3. They are all used before the application of foundation, although the setting spray can be used as a mist after makeup to give a dewy/ shimmery look.

4. All the products can be used as facials, without applying makeup they all have other skin benefits.

5.  My final conclusion on which product should come before which is

                                Face Moisturizer
                                          ⮟
                                  Face Primer
                                          ⮟
                                  Setting Spray

The Face Spray could be used before the Primer depending on its content.

This topic is very open and I would love to hear your opinion. I think this topic is very broad and just might come up again on the blog. Let me know if you found this content in anyway useful and other topics you would want me to feature in the comments. XOXO.
